HI CORPORATION AND IMAGINATION TECHNOLOGIES READY TO ENABLE
3D GRAPHICS ON NEXT GENERATION MOBILE PHONES
London, UK, 17 November 2004: Imagination Technologies - a leader in
system-on-chip intellectual property - announces that mobile 3D rendering
technology pioneer HI Corporation has ported its Mascot Capsule Engine
Micro3D Edition Version 4 to work with PowerVR MBX enabled applications
processors for embedded devices.
The combination of PowerVR MBX and Micro3D Edition along with OpenGL ES
support will enable advanced 3D gaming content on mobile phones.
Mascot Capsule Engine Micro3D Edition is a 3D rendering engine developed as
middleware for embedded, resourced-constrained devices. Together with a
variety of specifications established by handset manufacturers and wireless
carriers, Mascot Capsule enables the development of quality 3D games,
screensavers, and high performance applications.
PowerVR MBX graphics hardware for mobile and embedded devices will be
demonstrated at Embedded Technology Japan 2004 from November 17th - 19th
2004 at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall, Kanagawa, Japan.
PowerVR MBX enables the migration of complex 3D/2D graphics and video
content to mobile platforms. MBX has all the inherent benefits of the
PowerVR architecture, including low memory bandwidth, exceptional
performance, market leading image quality and low power demands.
